This is a Kickstart Role.
The Kickstart Scheme is part of the Chancellors Plan for Jobs. Employers have create high quality entry-level 6 month work placements for 25 hours per week for young people who are claiming Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment. These placements will enable young people to gain experience and develop skills such as: teamwork; communication and organisational skills.
A main focus of the role will be to support with a renovation project the charity is undertaking to support our income generation and improve organisational sustainability. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the preparations for these renovations - organising, sorting and archiving resources used by the charity over our rich 100 year history. With support from the wider team, the candidate will play a key role in ensuring the space is ready for when building works begin.
This is an exciting opportunity for anyone looking to gain experience in an office environment and/or within the charity sector. The successful candidate will experience and learn about the day to day running of a charity, engaging with staff at all levels and interacting with service users. Under the close support and supervision of the Senior Operations Manager, the post holder will be responsible for carrying out office facilitation and administration duties, to support wider services operations.

Working Pattern:
25 hors week. 7 hours per day over three days per week – 9.30am to 5.30pm - work days are flexible.
Employability Support:
Accessing Islington Council’s Employability Support Package. Providing support for young the person in the development of their employability skills. They will benefit from seamless wrap-around support at formative and summative periods within their placements. The support will be flexible so as to meet the varying needs of individuals.
The post holder will also have access to training Elfrida can offer like joining meetings to develop communication skills, working at a small org will enable them to support in lots of aspects of the day to day running of the charity, access to networks in local area, digital support, thorough induction to the charity, as well as access to formal training though our organisational outsourced employee training
