Home Connections is a boutique software services provider, owned by several local authorities, that delivers bespoke solutions to the Social Housing sector (covering Local Authority Housing and Housing Associations). It offers a choice-based lettings system, allowing registered users to search for available properties each week and express interest through various channels.

We are seeking an Angular Developer to contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of our software products. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of front-end development using Angular and experience in building and maintaining backend APIs with .NET. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying scalable web applications, ensuring high performance, accessibility, and scalability. You will participate in architectural decisions and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Depending on your level of experience you may also have the opportunity to mentor junior team members.

Please note this is an initial 12-18 month contract with scope for extension.

Duties

Web Application Development
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Angular and .Net
  • Integrate front-end components with backend services for seamless functionality.

Collaboration & Integration
  • Work closely with back-end developers and UI/UX designers to integrate APIs and deliver seamless user experiences.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technology decision-making.

Code Quality & Best Practices
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following software development best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality code and adherence to coding standards.

Optimisation & Performance
  • Optimise applications for performance, security, and accessibility.
  • Ensure front-end applications are efficient, responsive, and user-friendly.

Continuous Improvement & Learning
  • Stay updated on emerging front-end technologies and industry trends.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process and tech stack.

DevOps & Deployment Support
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments using Azure.

Mentorship & Leadership (dependent on experience)
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to team members.
  • Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration within the team.

General

  • Comply with corporate best practice, quality management, security guidelines, Health and Safety, and Data Protection rules

Essential criteria

  • Must be a British Citizen or have been resident in the UK for over 5 years with full right to work
  • 2+ Years of Experience in frontend development, with a strong focus on Angular (v14+)
  • Experience in .NET Framework (C#, ASP.NET, Web API)
  • Experience with AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML)
  • Experience with HTML 5, CSS Modules, Web pack, Babel, npm
  • Hands-on experience with RESTful API design and development
  • Solid understanding of component-based architecture and reusable UI design patterns
  • Ensuring a clear dependency chain, in regard to the app logic as well as the file system
  • Creating custom, general use modules and components which extend the elements and modules of core AngularJS
  • Experience with building the infrastructure for serving the front-end app and assets
  • Experience with performance optimisation, accessibility standards, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud services for hosting and deployment
  • Proficiency in Git version control and agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and quality and critical thinking capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts and required to interact with global team/s
  • Self-directed and self-motivated with the ability to take charge or play a supporting role

Desirable criteria

  • React.js (v17+) including hooks and state management
  • Previous experience in the social housing sector or public sector digital solutions

Additional information

Working hours: 9am-5.30pm, Monday-Friday, including 1 hour lunch break


Location (include on-site/hybrid working pattern): Hybrid; min 1 day in office/week, London N7 9DP


Please note salary will be dependent on experience.
