Role overview:

  • To undertake training in PAS2030 & PAS2035.
  • Proceeds and join the VINCI Team to deliver Retrofit works to our clients.
  • To have great communication skills and be a team player.
  • The Role will be on a fixed term of 12 months with 3 months’ probation.
  • You will do a graduation period of a year where you earn as you learn (London Living Wage) while you study to become a Retrofit Advisor ( Level 3 NVQ) and then train to be Retrofit Assessor ( NVQ4). 

Duties

In this first year your duties will be: To develop an understanding of the construction management processes and assist in appropriate & supportive duties and activities as directed.

These duties, responsibilities and activities will include (TASKS):
• The post holder will be expected to work substantially on site visiting residents and partner organizations
• Ensure and maintain the Resident Liaison diary, record items and any further appointments
• Have an understanding of the works, program and scope of works
• Help with site reports and updates for client and site management
• Prepare and distribute all communications to residents
• Establish a resident’s charter, maintain files, comments/query/complaints log etc.
• Compile, devise and implement procedures and administration to complement the role
• Keep all data base information up to date
• Carry out pre-visit to each resident to explain the “works” and assist them in understanding the process
• Keep residents informed of any changes, cancellations, progress
• Carry out regular checks on residents throughout the day and at the end of each working day
• Advise of bookings and appointments, where access is denied liaise with Client’s RLO or Housing Officer
• Be aware of public relations and refer issues to head office
• Liaise with local community, including schools, police, community leaders and surrounding neighbourhood
• Support with all aspects of project specific social value and CSR activity as required
• Carry out all aspects of site administration and team support as required

In order to achieve these you will (SKILLS):
• Become proficient in the application and use of a wide range of company systems and also survey instruments
• Develop proficiency in the use of proprietary software packages
• Carry out tasks and duties as instructed by your appointed line manager.
• Always ensure that you are working safely and that you are not putting any colleagues/ supply chain/ visitors/Residents/Customers or members of the public at risk by your actions.
• Assist in developing and the implementation of opportunities for improvement to overcome problems and which mitigates risk.
• Identify problems and seeks advice on how to solve them.
• Ensure that you and others around you work effectively to undertake site duties in accordance with all HS & E & Q legislation / VINCI HSEQ company policies, procedures and Mandatary Safety Standards and Health and Safety Plans at all times.

In terms of the learning components:
• Keep your line manager/mentor and VINCI Academy informed of college progress and as required request support.
• To understand and complete all E Learning mandatary training ie. Asbestos E Learning.


Essential criteria

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Customer care or sales background
  • Able to work on own initiative and devise systems to suit role
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Ability to work outside in a construction environment (in a compound or office)
  • Appreciation of on-site operations
  • Good computer literacy skills
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail

Desirable criteria

  • Knowledge of race, equality, and diversity issues
  • RSL/LA housing management skills
  • The post holder to be familiar with their health & safety duties on site
  • UK drivers license 
  • CSCS card holder

Additional information

This opportunity is to embark on a Retrofit educational training program will lead to approved acknowledged qualifications to deliver Retrofit PAS 2035 projects for our clients.

Part 1 - Carry out the Understanding Domestic Retrofit (UDR) course with the Retrofit Academy - 20 hrs - online training - NVQ Level 2

Part 2 – Carry out the Retrofit Advisor Course with the Retrofit Academy - Online / In classroom - 10 weeks NVQ level 3

Part 3 – Carry out the Retrofit Assessor Course with the Retrofit Academy - Online and Classroom – 40 hrs - NVQ level 4


Understanding Domestic Retrofit

The Level 2 Award in Understanding Domestic Retrofit (UDR) is an induction program that provides a solid introduction to the installation of whole house retrofit measures to domestic buildings. It will set you on the path to compliance with the requirements of the PAS 2030 specification, which is necessary for future work in the retrofit sector.

Retrofit Advisor

The Retrofit Advisor should give initial advice to the client. Where there is more than one client such as in the case of a Social Housing provider (Funding Client) and a resident (Residential Client) then advice should be given to both parties. Advice will be given to the Residential Client on energy saving tips that can reduce bills as well as discussing potential energy saving measures that may be installed in a dwelling. Advice should be given throughout the retrofit process to aid decision making regarding the choice of energy efficiency measures undertaken. The Advisor should be available to answer queries from both funding and residential clients throughout the retrofit process. This role can be undertaken by a suitably qualified person or the Retrofit Coordinator. The Coordinator may produce advice documentation which can be shared with the resident by a Liaison Officer. Advice is often given when a visit is made to check on the needs of the resident.

Retrofit Assessor

The Retrofit Assessor will undertake a comprehensive whole dwelling assessment, highlighting not only the energy efficiency of the dwelling but also the general condition of the property. The resulting reports will give an energy efficiency rating and include internal and external photographs so that the other retrofit professionals can assess the condition in conjunction with the provided narrative.
