Description

The Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA) is looking for an inquisitive and hard working intern and this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for!

Please be aware this role is a pro-rata of the annual salary.

MOLA are working in collaboration with the Council for British Archaeology (CBA) and funded by Historic England (HE) who are leading on what is known as the Public User Needs 2 (PUNS2) project. This follows on from the original project which took place over two decades ago.

The aim of this project is to contribute to a framework that will help archaeologists to improve the various ways they share the results of their important work with the public. Ultimately, the results of this project will help archaeologists to communicate to the public in ways that are effective, and that add to the public value of archaeology and will provide a set of recommendations for future use.

And this is where you come in as the paid intern, getting stuck in being an active member of the team and developing your skills and experience along the way!

This role is designed to offer a learning opportunity to a resident of Hackney or Islington who is: between 18-21 years of age; not currently in education; and has an interest in working in the heritage/cultural sectors.

  • Opportunities may also arise to support the work with media production, contributing to media communications, publicity, and engagement activities as well as developing your network and contacts.
  • Tailored training from MOLA staff will also be provided.
