Description

The Centre for Food Policy at City St George’s, University of London, is a leading interdisciplinary research centre focused on redesigning effective food systems.

The Centre’s research uses food systems approaches to uncover unsustainable, inequitable and unhealthy foods systems practices and support the development of evidence-informed and inclusive food policy decisions.

We listen to and engage with people across the food system to uncover how food systems really work in practice.

Duties

  • Produce communications, including developing and taking forward a clear communications strategy website redesign/updates, social media, external communication about the Centre, and producing Centre publications, such as Policy Briefs and videos.
  • Support alumni network activities.
  • Provide logistical support for external events, including the annual City Food Symposium, project events and roundtables.
  • Provide support for Internal coordination e.g. internal meetings, coordination of office space, finance issues, recruitment.
  • Work with the Centre Director and other staff to maximise the Centre’s impact on policy and practice.
  • Provide direct assistance to the Centre Director with administration and research project management 

Essential criteria

  • Self-starter and creative thinker, who would enjoy being embedded in a team passionate about redesigning food systems to achieve health, equity and environmental sustainability.
  • Have skills and experience producing engaging communication materials for a range of audiences, organising events and providing administrative support to individuals in leadership positions.
  • Experience of providing administrative support in Higher Education settings in the UK.
  • Experience of providing administrative support for large projects and programmes involving a range of people from different backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently, taking initiative as appropriate, and working as part of a team.

Interviews are scheduled to take place on: 13th & 14th February 2025.

The selection process will involve a 5-minute presentation on a pre-set topic and a 25 minute interview.

Presentation topic and interview panel composition will be emailed ahead of time.

Interviews will be held online using Microsoft Teams.
